At the Google press conference on October 15th, we saw a subscription service called Nest Aware, which allows users to record images taken by the Nest Cam security camera and Nest Hello doorbell, and get security reminders. Prior to this, the cloud storage function of each Nest camera required a separate subscription.
The Nest Aware subscription service will be launched early next year, and it can cover all cameras or doorbells in the home, regardless of the number. The service provides two options to choose from. If you only store all abnormal images captured by the camera within 30 days, the monthly price is US$6 (approximately RMB 42.5); storage of abnormal images for 60 days, or 24 for 10 days Hourly uninterrupted historical pictures, a monthly fee of 12 US dollars (about 85 yuan). Google said that users can easily switch between the two programs.
In addition to not limiting the number of devices, Nest Aware also provides other benefits. After subscribing to the service, Google’s smart speakers and displays can now be used for security monitoring, and its built-in AI function can detect abnormal sounds, such as dog barking or smoke alarms. After detecting abnormal conditions, they will report You send out a reminder.
In addition, a Home Feed page will be added to the Google Home application, which will display all notifications and hottests during the day. If there is an emergency, Nest Aware can also allow you to call the nearest 911 call service, even if you are not at home at the time.
